3 Top-Performing Follow-Up Email Templates You Can Steal

You’ve sent a prospect a few initial cold emails in hopes of making a connection, but you haven’t heard anything back. Don’t lose hope! Just like in any marketing campaign, a prospect needs to hear your message several times before they’re likely to respond to your call to action. Here are a few follow-up email templates that we find get the best response from those hard-to-convert prospects.

#1 Wrong Contact?

It’s possible that you haven’t heard back from your prospect because they’re not the person at their company responsible for overseeing organic social media, or data compliance, or whatever it is that you’re offering. This follow-up email template gets a fantastic open rate and is great for finding new leads to add to your campaigns.

Subject: Do I have the wrong contact?

Copy:

Hey [First Name],

I don’t want to waste your time and I can’t help but notice that I haven’t heard back from you. I’m concerned that I might have the wrong contact at [Company Name]!

Is there someone else I should reach out to about [Service]?

Thanks,

[Your Name]

#2 Check Out Some Samples

If you have a case study or resource on your site that you could direct them to, this follow-up email template is a great way to introduce them to that content. At the follow-up stage, you have hopefully built rapport and sending a link won’t seem phishy! However, be thoughtful when including links in cold emails. Using the full URL allows your prospect to copy and paste it into their browser.

Subject: Check this out!

Copy:

Hi [First Name],

We want to help you achieve [RESULTS] like we did for [CLIENT]!

Check out the work we did for them here: [LINK]

Do you have time to touch base later this week?

Thanks,

[Your Name]

#3 Current Process

Maybe your prospect already has a system in place that’s similar to your offering. If that’s the case, you need to help them see why your service will do it better! This follow-up email is a great way to open up a conversation about the unique benefits you bring to the table.

Subject: Is it working?

Copy:

Hi [First Name],

I’m interested in hearing about how [Company Name] is currently dealing with [PAIN POINT].

If you have no concerns whatsoever about [LIST OF THINGS WE CAN FIX], that’s great.

If you have any room for improvement in those areas, then we’d love to partner with you to [FIX THE THING].

Do you have a few minutes this week for a demo?

Thanks,

[Your Name]
